As many of you know, NDK has a long-standing commitment to the community and to our annual charity auction. 100% of our auction revenue goes directly to the charity of choice. In the past, we have chosen a different charity every year to benefit a cause close to our hearts. We have donated to the American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Fund, the Pediatric Asthma Fund, and the Japan America Society of Colorado. This year, we have chosen a charity that hits close to home as well.
Some of you might know George Robbert from our charity auctions; over the many years he has been a staffer at NDK, he has donated quite a bit to our charities. He is also the sponsor for the Traditional Japanese Costume award given at our Costume Contest. His generosity is renowned throughout the convention, and it is party because of the love and guidance given to him by his family. Last year, George lost both of his parents. His mother lost her battle with cancer, and his father passed away due to complications with diabetes.
We dedicate this year’s charity auction in their memory, and in honor of an amazing staff member and son. All proceeds from this year’s auction will benefit the American Diabetes Association. Please visit our charity auction this year, and buy some amazing things for a great cause!
All of our auction items are donated from generous companies, guests, dealers, and people just like you! If you have an item that you would like to donate to the charity auction, please use the advertising contact on our communications page!
