In order to keep some order on the boards, we have had to impose a few simple rules. It keeps the tone friendly and there are a few in there to keep our industry friends happy able to continue providing us with awesome anime to watch.

Now for the part that everyone loves, the Rules of Conduct:

  1. Be civil and courteous to your fellow board members. Flaming and derogatory comments will not be tolerated.
  2. Keep it clean. Nan Desu Kan attracts a wide variety of age groups, and thus there may be impressionable minds wandering about. There are some language filters built in, but you are expected not to trigger them. Imagery of a racy nature is also not allowed.
  3. Solicitation, promotion and distribution of copyrighted material is not allowed. This includes fansubs. We want to see the companies that provide us with all the anime, manga and other forms of Japanese entertainment continue to provide it. This means that they a have to get some money in return for your viewing it. I know there are various opinions on this matter, and we hope you understand and appreciate our stand on this.
  4. You are expected to have fun interacting with fellow fans.
  5. Please keep posted images clean and family friendly. If it is FCC non-compliant, then should not be used in an image. depictions of a derogatory nature will not be allowed. This includes sexually explicit imagery and offensive hand gestures. This refers to images in posts, signatures and avatars.
  6. Images in signatures should be kept at a reasonable height also. Please keep them under approximately 300 pixels. Width is really not too much of a concern since the forum’s template takes care of that so they are not distracting to people trying to read the forum.

There they are, short and sweet. I hope they aren’t too harsh. These rules can and will be changed and adjusted as we see fit, but hopefully there will be no need to do so.

Happy chatting!
