Our Annual Charity Auction
Every year we have an auction during closing ceremonies. Items for sale range from signed DVDs to original cell art. A lot of these items are provided by our gracious guests and there are a lot of other donors including staff members and local businesses.
The best part of this auction is all proceeds go to a charity. Not 30%, not 50%, but 100%. The charity changes from year to year and 2007 is not going to be any different. The past two years we have focused our attention on charities that support the community by donating to the Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina, and most recently Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor of Race for the Cure.
This year, a tragedy struck the NDK family, and we are donating our charity funds to the Pediatric Asthma and Research Fund in loving memory of Kristopher Schaer. Kris loved NDK, and we are now going to show our appreciation for a wonderful young man by donating in his memory. Our hearts are glad to know that we met him, and honored to have been among his friends.
