Hi. How’s it going? It’s been a while, but we have been busy behind the scenes getting things ready for 2007. Here is a sampling of what you will see over the weekend of September 14th to 16th. Less than 4 months to NDK! Can you stand it!
Charity Benefactor
As many of you know, NDK is dedicated to giving back to the community. The past two years we have focused our attention on charities that support the community by donating to the Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina, and most recently Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor of Race for the Cure. This year, a tragedy struck the NDK family, and we are donating our charity funds to the Pediatric Asthma and Research Fund in loving memory of Kristopher Schaer. Kris loved NDK, and we are now going to show our appreciation for a wonderful young man by donating in his memory. Our hearts are glad to know that we met him, and honored to have been among his friends.
DDR
Many can see how Anime and DDR go hand in hand so well. Anime is packed full of great music from outstanding artists, how can they not be included into a dance game? This year at NDK we look forward to bring you once again a DDR room unlike any NDK has seen in the past. Last year we had many suggestions and we will deliver. Like last year we will be displaying DDR on a giant screen so all spectators can see your outstanding performances. Per the majority request, we are happy to introduce 2 brand spanking new cobalt flux dance pads. No more slipping and crumpled up pads! There will be a few tournament based rounds with great prizes up for grabs. Make sure you don’t miss it!
Go Session
Go was developed 4,000 years ago in China. The rules are so simple they can be taught in a few minutes, but it can take a lifetime to master the game. Playing sets and instruction will be provided. Come learn to play and discover the mystery and beauty of the ancient dance of the black and white stones.
Cosplay Chess
Katie, our cosplay head a new cosplay event to happen at NDK this year. Cosplay Chess will make it’s debut at NDK this year. There are still a few spots left, so request your spot quickly!
Art Show Forms
For all of you artists out there, the art show forms are on the Art Show page. If you plan to submit works, you will need these forms filled when you arrive at the convention. They come in two flavors: PDF and Excel Spreadsheet. The PDF can simply be printed out and filled in manually while the Excel document can be filled out, saved and printed for easy legibility.
#NDK on Freenode
Due to the recent activity on the forums, there is now an IRC channel set up for NDK. To join in, just use your favorite IRC client and connect to irc.freenode.net and then join the #ndk channel.
