NDK represents, to anyone with a business or cause to do with Japan, comics, games, video, Asian culture as a whole, food or other fun things, an opportunity to market directly to 3,500 people vested in these interests. Our average age now rests at about 18 years, with a wide range of people from 15 through 45 and even 69! It is a friendly, positive environment and a good place for friendly, positive messages.

Nan Desu Kan is a non-profit convention, with the goal to spread knowledge and appreciation of Japanese animation, manga, and culture. To support our program, NDK sells advertising space in our program book at what we feel is a reasonable rate. Our paid attendance is projected at over 3,250, and most attendees keep their program books as a lasting souvenir of their convention experience. We hope to make it a weekend they love to remember. Space is available on a first-come-first-served basis. The guide will have a print run of at least 3,250 copies ($0.077 per copy for our most expensive ad, $0.012 or just over a penny each copy for our lowest cost). Advertising rates in our program book are:

Not available. The convention is right around the corner and the book has been sent ot the printer. Check back for next year’s advertising information.

Advertising guidelines

Advertising is subject to review to ensure that it meets the following guidelines which will be applied equally to all advertisement, flyers and displays in any public area of NDK:

  • When depicting characters, if they would be arrested for exposure if seen on the street, please don’t use them in your ads.
  • Please do not use profanity or extremely suggestive/explicit poses in your advertisement.

Prices quoted for all advertising are for black and white format. Please submit your artwork in ready-to-print form. Ads on diskette are welcome, as are original printed copies. If you submit your ad on disk, please include all typefaces and placed images. NDK can accommodate most service bureau applications such as Adobe Illustrator, QuarkXpress, CorelDRAW!, Pagemaker, etc. Mailing negatives rather than files or hard copies is discouraged, as it adds to costs and time needed for processing. For Business Card placement, you may mail your card for submission.

Options are available for advertising in other areas of the convention, and we are actively soliciting support for the convention. Nan Desu Kan will consider sponsorships from companies interested in supporting the convention in return for targeted exposure. These possibilities are considered on a case by case basis, with a primary criterion that the venture must supply a measurable and substantial benefit to the attendees of the convention.

Clubs and other non-profit groups may use our convention flyer tables free of charge, however the convention regrets that it does not have personnel and time available to receive and put out your flyers – please arrange an on-site contact among your members or friends to place your flyers. Flyers left over at the end of the convention are disposed of.
